Visiting the site

When you load a page, the server that hosts this site processes your IP address, the page you asked for, the time and your browser's user agent in order to deliver the page and keep the service secure. [Hosting provider, its location and how long its server logs are kept.] The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The site remembers whether you chose the light or dark look in your browser's local storage. That setting never leaves your device.

News

News posts are loaded by our server from our database, so your browser does not contact the database. If a post has a cover image, your browser loads that image from our file storage at [storage host].

The contact form

When you send a message, we store your name, email address, organization if you give one, the topic and your message in our database, hosted by Supabase [Supabase entity and region]. We use it only to read and answer your message. The legal basis is your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). [Retention period, for example: we delete messages 12 months after the conversation ends.]

To limit abuse, the server counts how many messages come from one IP address within a few minutes. That count is held in memory only and is not stored.

Your rights
